Kairos

     Two years ago we introduced the Kairos conference here in Ulan-Ude. It was so powerful, that several people became trainers out of that initial group and are passing along the teachings to other areas of Russia. Kairos is "an interactive course on world Christian mission, designed to educate, inspire, and challenge Christians to activate and meaningful participation." We decided to hold another course here, and many new people came and are inspired. (This course began the very day Anneka and I arrived back from America!)

     With 115 unreached people groups still in Russia this is a very powerful time for people to grow in their desire to reach these neighbors.  Here is some of the exciting fruit that came out of this year's Kairos course:

* trainers are being developed

* one couple is starting up a small group with the focus of praying faithfully for the unreached

* the group of new local trainers are meeting quarterly for inner-church prayer meetings for the unreached

* this group has also made the goal of fully funding a local lady who is leaving to do Bible translating work among an unreached people group in Asia.  This is no small thing, and requires sacrifice from people here!!

* a short-term mission trip is planned for this spring to go to one of these groups of Siberian people

     And we're sure there is more that we haven't even been made aware of yet!  It's so exciting to see God at work, bringing glory to Himself among the nations!
