Sleeping Lion Rock

     Two days before the Idaho/Montana team flew in, we took a rest day and went to this beautiful place called Sleeping Lion Rock.  This is one of Nettie's favorite places.  She wanted to show it to Andrew while he was here, and thankfully our family got to come along.  =)



   
     It was nice having Irene with us, as she made sure none of the kids fell off of the rocks.  ;)

    Behind Ella are some Buddhist prayer flags.  It is a very big religious spot for many people. Our little group took some time to pray together and sing worship songs to God (Nettie brought her guitar).  It was a special time to be in nature and to enjoy God's beauty.



     A month later (in September), Nettie and I had a special time with two sweet ladies.  One lady was here just for the summer but became a part of our lives, hanging out, joining our ladies' group and coming to English Club on Baikal while she was here.  She had invited another friend to the ladies' group, but her friend wasn't able to come.  Then they both were together and ran into Nettie downtown and asked if Nettie could take them to Sleeping Lion Rock and lead a Bible study there (even though they are Buddhist and Shamanist).  Of course, Nettie agreed.  I was so happy they invited me to join, too!



    We sat in the warm September sunshine (a rare and beautiful thing!) and studied Psalm 139 together.  It was a sweet day, and I'm thankful for this opportunity.
