Summer Interns and Short Term Team

We were blessed to have Andrew Kerin live with our family for a month this summer.  He worked as an intern and was a huge help to us on many levels.  We treasure the time we had with him. His fire for Jesus and sharing about Him is contagious.

Leif's mom was able to come at the same time as Andrew.  It was special to have her join in with our lives and ministry.  She was very flexible with all of our plans and had a cheerful attitude, even with a busy/tiring schedule.

Eric Jordan also joined us as a summer intern, arriving a couple of weeks after Andrew and Irene.  He was also very eager to help.  He and Andrew grew up in Ulan-Ude before their families moved back to the States, so it was really fun for us to see how they've grown up and to interact with them on an adult level.

All three were ready to help even with mundane jobs like cutting vegetables or doing dishes.  Here, we were preparing for the upcoming team.

We had the huge blessing of a team from Idaho (plus Kathlene from Montana) coming for two weeks to help us with our English Club on Baikal.  Each person was the perfect puzzle piece for the perfect team.  They all had such servants hearts and were truly an encouragement to us!

Leif needed to register the team the day they  flew in.  They were all ready to go on an adventure right away, even after little sleep and much travel!  It was nice to have Andrew and Eric to send with them into the city, as not everyone fit in our car.  It's so cool because I called a taxi, and it turned out to be our neighbor that we have been connecting with!  Soon I will share more about the team's time here!

Before everyone arrived, we made some extra time for our little family. Also, both Leif and I had one-on-one "dates" with each of the kids.  Ike went through a 2 month period this summer where he didn't want his picture taken.  So if you don't see him much for a few blogs, that's why!  ;)
