Sled Ride

video

It just keeps getting colder and colder! Yesterday it got down to -37C/-33F. That's COLD. Especially on the walk back from church when you come up over the hill into our neighborhood- the wind blows something fierce and you feel like you can't breathe and you want to run or walk backwards or cover your whole face with your scarf or all three at the same time. Anneka likes riding on her sled. We pulled it out before Christmas because it's way more practical than a stroller. It's a little funny/crazy/scary watching when Leif pulls her over curbs or down hills, but she seems unphased by it. She fell asleep on the way to church, despite the jostling and the weather. However, I didn't let her stay sleeping outside. It was just too cold today. Here's a still picture of her, too:

So cute and so cold. It looks like a great sled and nice and bundled little girl too. As always I love talking to you and listening to our littlest angel. Take care and Merry Christmas.

You know...I have become more and more convinced that I could not live in Russia. Kudos to you. :) Katie got a teeny taste of Anneka's life today b/c it she got bundled into 3 layers when we had to go rescue our car from the pile of snow outside. :)

So funny! And she actually lets you bundle he face like that??? Now I know why we are in Krasnodar. Our kids would have their faces frozen off out there! They don't even like to wear hats! Really, that is quite impressive.

um, I thought it was going to put my name there, not just our blog. Really, I promise I wasn't going for shameless publicity.

Oh poor funny baby! Kariya would definitely not stand for being that bundled...I think this cold weather is going to give you an easy-going child. :) We're praying that you three stay warm this winter season!

I love our snow here, but I agree with Anita--is is so cold there! You guys are way brave. I put Solomon down in the snow yesterday, and he walked across the crusty top for a few seconds, then fell through--6 inches through! He could barely move. lol. He hated it. I swear he hasn't been outside since mid-November, and it if were up to him it would be April before he went out again. :o)
Merry Christmas!
